On this site, you are introduced to the reading circles at Licking Valley High School. They list many books that you are allowed to choose from, and once you have made your selection, you join the group that corresponds to the book that you have chosen. This gives the students a way to interact with each other, without being in the same location. The students are allowed to submit their own book choices, this helps them to take on ownership of the project, because they are the ones choosing a book that they like.
This is a teacher’s classroom site, that is all about reading in her classroom. She links to many different ideas, and parts of literature. She even has spelling and grammar sections. In those sections she has different aids that will assist students in those academic areas. She gives a section for books to read if you are looking for one. She has them broken down into several categories to assist the user with finding a book that they will enjoy.
I feel that both of these sites are great examples of ways to use wikis in a classroom. They are easy to navigate, visually appealing, and easily accessible for the grades that they are intended for.
